Broadening the Base of Concerned Citizens to Change Direction in Montpelier
A few of us at Vermonters for Economic Health met recently with folks from the Rutland County Pro-Business Coalition to explore the possibilities of amplifying our respective efforts to bring much-needed change to Montpelier. We share the belief that this Legislature and its leaders sponsor and enact policies and excessive government spending that are leading to the rapid deterioration of Vermont's economic health and thwarting private sector job creation.
We intend further discussions and plan to engage other like-minded Vermont groups in a coalition or other form of concerted grass-roots action to elect people who are far more realistic about improving Vermont's economy.
Our mutual goal is to elect people who are not beholden to partisan politics. Instead, we expect our General Assembly to work for spending control, efficiency in government and sound policies and regulation that will encourage a vibrant private sector economy.
